bovine cough
Last reviewed 01/2018
The phrase "A bovine cough" is used to describe the non- explosive cough of someone unable to close their glottis.
It is seen vagus nerve lesions, and may be associated with dysphonia.
It has been commented that the person who coined the phrase "A bovine cough" had in all probability never even seen a cow - apparently this cough is nothing like that of a cow.
