bilateral diffuse pleural thickening

This condition may result from light/moderate exposure to asbestos.

Patients may present with effort dyspnoea.

Chest radiography reveals bilateral diffuse thickening of both parietal and visceral pleura to more than 5mm thick.

The thickening extends over more than a quarter of the chest wall.

Lung function tests may show a restrictive ventilatory defect.
