The radial pulse should be assessed for:
- character
- rate
- rhythm
- left-right asymmetry between radial pulses
- radiofemoral delay
Other signs include:
- clubbing
- peripheral cyanosis
- the signs of infective endocarditis (splinter haemorrhages, Osler's nodes, Janeway lesions)
- xanthomata
- Quinke's sign - aortic regurgitation
