When considering cervical spondylosis, other disorders associated with neck or arm pain and sensory symptoms must be excluded. These include:

  • cervical rib syndrome
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • supraspinatus tendon lesions
  • multiple sclerosis
  • neurofibromatosis involving the nerve roots
  • vitamin B12 deficiency, causing subacute combined degeneration of the spinal cord
