lacunar ligament

The lacunar ligament (of Gimbernat) supports the floor of the medial part of the inguinal canal. Medially, it originates from the pubic tubercle. It slopes superiorly, posteriorly and laterally in continuity with the pectineal line of the pubis and the inguinal ligament. After extending about 1cm, its posterior margin is free and crescentic in shape.
The free edge of the ligament demarcates the medial border of the femoral triangle.
