solvent abuse

This is often a group activity of boys between 11 and 16 years of age.
Often it is a transient form of experimentation with about 75% stopping after 6 months. Clinical features of solvent abuse include visual hallucinations, slurred speech, dizziness, and impaired judgement. Chronic abuse is associated with cerebellar signs with cerebral ventricular enlargement.
