mezlocillin

Mezlocillin is a ureidopenicillin which is active against certain ampicillin resistant bacteria. It is, however, inactivated by penicillinases.

Indications:-

  • gram positive and negative infections, including enteric bacilli. Antipseudomonal activity.

Cautions:-

  • history of renal impairment and allergy

Contra-indications:-

  • penicillin hypersensitivity.

Side-effects:-

Routes of administration:-

  • i.m. injection
  • i.v. injection
  • i.v. infusion
