management of diabetic ketoacidosis

The management of diabetic ketoacidosis is aimed at

• correction of dehydration
• correction of acidosis and reverse ketosis
• restoration of blood glucose to near normal levels
• monitor for complications of DKA and its treatment
• identify and treat any precipitating event (1,2)
