clinical features

Last reviewed 01/2018

When this syndrome is fully expressed clinical features include the three features of the Kartagener triad, i.e.:

  • situs inversus
  • chronic chest infection - usually due to Haemophilus influenzae and Streptococcus pneumonia - colonisation with pseudomonas is much less common than in cystic fibrosis
  • sinusitis

In addition there may be live but immotile spermatozoa present in the male ejaculate.
