Causes of gastrointestinal ulceration include:

  • non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
  • doxycycline } may cause
  • emepronium bromide (anticholinergic } oesophageal used in bladder detrusor instability) } ulceration
  • ascorbic acid }
  • spironolactone has been linked with the development of peptic ulceration
