A lengthened APPT may indicate:
- factor VIII deficiency
- factor VIII inhibitors
- factor IX deficiency
- factor XI deficiency
- presence of antiphospholipid antibodies
- heparin usage
von Willebrand's disease (congenital deficiency of von Willebrand's factor )
antiphospholipid antibody syndrome
interpretation of the results of screening tests used in the diagnosis of coagulation disorders
