The symptoms of retrocaecal appendicitis include:
- pain:
- generally not as severe as with a normally-sited appendix
- in the early stages, not well-localised in site but may progress to right flank or costovertebral angle
- often tolerated for longer periods than a normally-sited appendix
- anorexia
- nausea
- fever
