Tricyclic antidepressants are used for the treatment of:

• depression:
• particularly effective when there are endogenous signs of depression such as sleep disorder and anorexia

• panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder:
• for example clomipramine

• nocturnal enuresis

• chronic pain syndromes
