  • stable in solution
  • long shelf-life
  • no pain on injection
  • non-irritant
  • no histamine release
  • no sequelae
  • non-emetic

  • rapid onset and recovery
  • analgesia
  • tendency to complications
  • respiratory and cardiovascular effects
  • hypersensitivity
  • post operative vomiting
  • emergence delirium and hallucination
