Juvenile delinquency is a sociolegal term, not a psychiatric diagnosis.
A juvenile deliquent is defined as a 10 to 17 year old prosecuted and found guilty of an offence that would be classified as a crime if commited by an adult.
Crimes commited include thieving, joyriding, vandalism and criminal damage. Personal violence and drug offences are less common.
Juvenile delinquents may have a conduct disorder.
