aspirin in unstable angina
Last reviewed 01/2018
Aspirin at 75 mg/day reduces the risk of myocardial infarction in patients with unstable angina by about 50%.
A higher first dose of aspirin (e.g. aspirin 300mg) should give effective suppression of platelet activity from the start of therapy; thereafter, low-dose aspirin appears as effective as treatment in higher doses (1).
