epithelial ovarian tumours

Epithelial ovarian tumours are classified into:
- serous tumours
- mucinous tumours
- endometrioid carcinoma
- clear cell carcinoma
- Brenner tumour
- undifferentiated carcinoma
The vast majority are benign:
- 60% of serous, 80% of mucinous and over 95% of Brenners
Others are classified as:
- borderline - low malignant potential - with at least 2 of epithelial budding, multilayered epithelium, mitotic activity, or nuclear atypia
- malignant - most endometrioid and clear cell types
