The investigations to consider for intraventricular haemorrhage are:

  • ultrasound:
    • the choroid plexus is echodense
    • can see the enlarged ventricles in hydrocephalus

  • CT scan:
    • this investigation shows that IVH is much more common than clinically detected. However, problems exist with the radiation dosage and equipment transport.
