inhaled steroids and dysphonia

  • myopathic weakness of the adductor muscles of the vocal cords leading to dysphonia - this effect is reversible on cessation of inhaled steroid treatment

  • the use of a spacer does not appear to help with hoarseness associated with inhaled corticosteroid use
