Genetic disorders thought to predispose to acute leukaemia include:

  • Down's syndrome - a transient leukaemic picture may develop soon after birth with acute leukaemia developing months or years later
  • Fanconi's anaemia
  • ataxia-telangiectasia
  • Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome
  • Bloom's syndrome
  • Kleinfelter's syndrome
  • Osteogenesis imperfecta
