investigations in secundum defect

- chest radiography shows cardiomegaly with a large right atrium, large pulmonary artery and pulmonary plethora
- electrocardiography shows right ventricular hypertrophy, right axis deviation and often right bundle branch block
- echocardiography is diagnostic
