Investigations are as follows:-
- chest radiology may reveal a prominent left ventricle with post-stenotic dilatation of the ascending aorta
- ECG may reveal left ventricular hypertrophy related to the severity of the stenosis
- cardiac catherisation is required if there is evidence of severe or moderate aortic stenosis. This provides a measure of the pressure gradient across the aortic valve
