standard tPA regimen

The standard regimen for tPA administration is:

• i.v. infusion of 1.5 mg/kg Alteplase over 3 hr

• 5000 U i.v. bolus of heparin followed by continuous i.v. infusion over 3 days, maintaining APTT 1.5-2.5

• 300 mg aspirin chewed, followed by 75-150 mg/day indefinitely
