- flecainide use increases digoxin concentration by about 20%
- amiodarone causes a significant increase in plasma concentrations of flecainide
- propranolol co-administration leads to a significant increase in plasma
concentrations of both drugs
- the use of negatively inotropic drugs with flecainide (e.g. verapamil,
propranolol, disopyramide) increases the risk of heart failure (1)
- cimetidine and fluoxetine may also increase flecainide concentrations
- drugs which can prolong the QT interval (e.g. terfenadine, astemizole, quinine) when used with flecainide further increase the risk of serious ventricular arrhythmias
