right subclavian artery anomalies
Last reviewed 01/2018
Rarely, the right subclavian artery arises from the aortic arch distal to the left subclavian artery. To reach the right side of the thorax, it passes behind the oeosphagus and trachea to produce a vascular ring.
Developmentally, this condition results from regression of the right fourth branchial arch artery.
