• the total incidence of mouth, lip and pharyngeal cancer is approximately 3,600 cases per annum
  
  
• clinical presentation of nasopharyngeal cancer:
• neck lump 80-90%
• nasal obstruction 60%
• deafness 50%
• postnasal discharge 40-50%
