Last reviewed 01/2018
Physiotherapy, NSAIDs and steroid injection are used.
The arm is rested in a sling and the patient given a short course of indomethacin. Local injection of methylprednisolone (40mg) and lignocaine 1% is appropriate.
Rarely surgical removal of calcific tissue may be considered if other treatment is ineffective.
