The clinical features of attico-antral chronic suppurative otitis media include:

  • worsening conductive deafness
  • a scanty discharge - often persistent and fetid smelling
  • bright red granulations as a result of osteitis which usually bleed on touch
  • aural polyps - these are formed from granulation tissue and from inside the meatus
  • cholesteatoma
