Pretibial myxoedema:
- is a feature of Grave's disease
- occurs in about 5% of patients with Grave's disease
- is often accompanied by thyroid acropachy or exophthalmos
Pretibial myxoedema consists of localised cutaneous hyaluronic acid deposits and most often occurs on the shins.
