Pretibial myxoedema:

  • is a feature of Grave's disease
  • occurs in about 5% of patients with Grave's disease
  • is often accompanied by thyroid acropachy or exophthalmos

Pretibial myxoedema consists of localised cutaneous hyaluronic acid deposits and most often occurs on the shins.
