PRoFESS trial

Last reviewed 01/2018

The PRoFESS trial (1) compared the efficacy of two treatments in secondary prevention of stroke:

  • 25 mg aspirin (ASA) and 200 mg extended-release dipyridamole twice a day, with
  • 75 mg clopidogrel once a day

Both regimens resulted in similar rates of recurrent stroke.
