The differential diagnosis of acute leukaemia includes:
- if lymphadenopathy present:
- lymphoma
- Epstein-Barr virus infection
- if hepatosplenomegaly present:
- myeloproliferative disorder
- lymphoproliferative disorder
- myelodysplasia
- metabolic and storage disorders
- autoimmune disorders
- pancytopenia without peripheral blast cells:
- aplastic anaemia
- marrow infiltration by tumour
- myelodysplasia
