homonymous hemianopia and ipsilateral central scotoma

Homonymous hemianopia with ipsilateral central scotoma will occur with lesions that affect the lateral part of the optic chiasm as well as the optic nerve.
Causes of homonymous hemianopia include:
- pituitary tumour
- meningioma of the sphenoidal wing
- anterior communicating artery aneurysm
