Features of growth hormone deficiency include:-
- normal birth weight and length
- hypoglycaemia in infancy, with or without prolonged hyperbilirubinaemia
- reduced growth velocity apparent from six to twelve months
- frontal bossing and poor nasal bridge development
- delayed closure of the anterior fontanelle
- obesity and micropenis
- thin hair, poor nail growth
- proportionate dwarfism, which is due to epiphyseal growth plate retardation - Laron type
- delayed skeletal maturation, which is associated with adiposity and hypogonadism - Frohlich's adiposogenital syndrome
