- long term therapy with iodine - for example in kelp preparations or expectorants
- iodine containing drugs:
- amiodarone
- antithyroid drugs:
- carbimazole
- propylthiouracil
- lithium carbonate
- aminoglutethimide
- interferons
- interleukin-2
Hypothyroidism is more likely in patients with a previous history of thyroid disorders or with positive thyroid antibodies.
