Screening for colorectal cancer offers the potential to detect the disease at an early, potentially curable, stage.
There are five criteria for considering screening for colorectal cancer:
- age > 40
- family history of colorectal cancer
- personal history of colorectal cancer
- familial adenomatous polyposis coli
- ulcerative colitis

faecal occult blood tests (diagnosis of colorectal cancer)
