In general patients should be advised about life style changes which may help the condition. Intial advice include
- identifying any trigger factors and avoiding them e.g. - spicy foods or alcohol, stressful situations, and identifiable emotional triggers
- using antiperspirant spray rather than deodorant
- wearing loose fitting clothes made of natural fibres, and using dress shields to absorb sweat.
- wear leather shoes only
- minimise obvious signs of sweating by wearing black or white clothing
- use emollient washers and moisturizers rather than soap based cleansers

Management varies with respect to generalized and localised hyperhidrosis.
