hydrocoele of the cord

The hydrocoele of the cord is a rare primary hydrocoele in which there is a smooth, oval swelling associated with the spermatic cord. It lies in, or just distal to the inguinal canal, separate from the testis and the peritoneum.
Diagnosis is confirmed by exerting downward traction on the testis, which pulls the hydrocoele down with it.
