head and neck features

The head and neck features of Gorlin's Syndrome are highly varied:
- odontogenic keratocysts:
- start to appear at an average age of 15 years
- second most common feature of condition after basal cell carcinoma
- more frequent in the mandible than the maxilla
- can be unilateral or bilateral
- thickneing of the calvarial bones eg in the frontal and parietal areas giving characteristic bossing
- broad nose
- hypertelorism
- rarely, congenital blindness secondary to:
- cataracts
- glaucoma
- microphthalmos
- coloboma
- strabismus
