Ludloff test

Last reviewed 01/2018

The Ludloff test is a specific test for the iliopsoas muscle.

The test isolates the iliopsoas muscle by lifting the leg with the knee extended whilst sitting on a chair

Production of a deep groin pain during this test implies the muscle's tendinous insertion onto the lesser trochanter is affected (positive Ludloff sign)
