transcortical motor dysphasia

The clinical features of a transcortical motor dysphasia include:
- non-fluent speech and writing
- comprehension is normal
- repetition of speech is normal
The lesion is usually in one of two locations:
- Broca's area:
- the lesion is small or recovering
- frontal lobes:
- seen in cases of abulia or akinetic mutism
