invasive aspergillosis

This generally occurs in the presence of immunosuppression and presents as a suppurative pneumonia which fails to respond to conventional antibiotic therapy. This condition has a poor prognosis.

The management consists of a combination of amphotericin and flucytosine.

This condition carries a very poor prognosis.
